Top Tips: wearing a face mask with glasses

They might be our new favourite accessory to match with our eyewear, but face masks are causing us to fight the steamed up glasses look!🌫👓 As face coverings are now mandatory in many places and breathing is, well...essential, lens fogging is a new challenge for us glasses wearers. This being said, we’ve compiled some top tips on how to reduce this as much as possible 😷👀

1⃣ GET A MASK THAT IS A PERFECT FIT

The ideal mask to avoid fogging is one that fits as snug at the top. Look for a mask with wire at the bridge of your nose which can be adjusted. The better the fit, the less air to fog up your glasses. Leaving your mask a little loose at the sides or bottom will allow the hot air to escape away from your lenses.

2⃣ TUCK A TISSUE INSIDE YOUR MASK

You can fold a tissue up and tuck this into the top of your mask. This will absorb any moisture from your breath and catch it before it reaches your lenses!

3⃣ SIT YOUR GLASSES ON THE MASK/FURTHER DOWN YOUR NOSE

Wear your glasses with the rims sitting over the frames rather than tucked into the mask. The glasses being a little further down your nose when you wear them will also keep them away from the moist breaths.

4⃣ ANTI-FOG SPRAY

Specially formulated lens sprays are also an option to prevent fogging. We don’t sell these at IOLLA but if you search online you should find many options to choose from.
