Tin Man by Sarah Winman
"The most beautifully written book that fills your heart and breaks it all at once. It is a story of friendship and first love, a story of grief and loss and loneliness. The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell
"Let’s be honest, it’s David Mitchell and he could make even accounting fascinating. Which, in a way, he does in this tale of a clerk for the Dutch East Indies Company at the turn of the 19th century. The protagonist grapple with his surprising love for a Japanese midwife he meets on a man-made trading outpost in Nagasaki bay, all whilst a thread of corruption runs its course through Japanese feudalism and Dutch capitalism. A thrilling read, looking at the confluence of cultures as well as mysticism and science at a unique point in world history. Like Cloud Atlas it takes readers somewhere they don’t expect and reminds them of life’s unending surprises, miseries and joys in some of the most beautiful, playful and human prose you’ll come across." This Is Going to Hurt By Adam Kay
"This is going to hurt was laugh out loud funny. An intoxicating combination of hilarious stories and touching moments made it a book I was unable to put down. The short diary style writings would make it a great book for the daily commute… if the daily commute ever returns! I couldn’t recommend this book enough to anyone who has not read it. Adam Kay writes with a quick wit and genuine humor, however, it is the deeply personal relationships formed with his colleagues and patients which leaves the most significant impression on the reader. Expectation by Anna Hope
"This was my first Audiobook and I loved it! Expectation is an eyeopening, heartbreaking, and beautiful love story about female friendships. The highs and lows which we all experience (in completely different ways), reminding us of the value of friendship and learning that comparison is the killer of all joy. We following the lives of 3 women as they grow up together through this crazy thing we call life. It was read so well by the narrator and really brought the story to life." Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
"This is a book I picked up without knowing anything about it and I'm so glad I did. The writing is beautiful and so unique. I was extremely invested in the story and found myself getting lost in this book due to the atmosphere and emotion it created. It tugged at my heart on many occasions and I found myself really rooting for the main character! It's romance, coming of age and murder mystery all in one! "A heartbreaking read if you want to cry your way through the quarantine😥 It’s about a group of friends living in New York and follows their complicated lives over the years.
