What a year. We are so proud of our 🧡IOLLA team🧡for all their hard work from designing new frames and campaigns to our showroom stylist’s service and looking after our customer's experience. We have a great network of local businesses surrounding us, who all do amazing and wonderful things, and are always keen to collaborate, create and support each other to reach more like-minded people. Our brand is most grateful this year (and every year) for our customers, you! We love reading your reviews, seeing your #SeeWithIOLLA snaps, welcoming newcomers to the community and saying hey again to our loyal IOLLA collection customers. Thanks for continuing to support us and let’s take a look at some of our highlights from the year!
JANUARY - MARCH
2019 started off with our 🤓Living Wage accreditation 🤓for good workers, good for business and good for society! Our IOLLA team is the biggest and best investment our business can make - being a real Living Wage employer means we can attract great people to join our team who share our values and are proud to work for us. The culture within the brand is very important and making sure staff feel great about working for IOLLA contributes to the high standard of service and care given to our customers. Our Stockbridge showroom 🎈turned 1🎈in February, all weekend we celebrated with balloons, tote bag giveaways and sweet treats. In March, our Refresh service launched to allow our customers to keep their adored IOLLA frames. Have you got a new prescription? 👓Give your eyewear some new sparkle with a component check, extreme clean and new lenses✨
APRIL - JUNE
Spring launch, Designed with You in Mind, a collection built around you (our customers) each frame was created from feedback from our customers: larger frames, smaller frames and new colours! For this collection, each frame was modelled by our REAL customers, a huge thank you to each of them for taking part! 👋✨🤓We also had sunshine on our mind with a new polarised sunglasses collection to ensure you'll capture the best kind of selfie in the Summer!😎 We hosted a Summer Showcase in both Stockbridge and Glasgow, to celebrate our growth and to share some BIG news - the wait was over ⏰ We announced that we would be expanding into the Glasgow City Centre, to open our third showroom! 🎉Thanks to all our customers who helped us bring more eyewear to the people of Glasgow.
JULY - SEPTEMBER
West George Street OPENS! 👓✂️ To celebrate opening our third showroom, we had a launch party with our most loyal customers and everyone who helped bring our vision to life! 🧡Our new events space, in West George Street, has been an opportunity for us to have 🤝pop up collaborations 🤝with some of our favourite local companies such as NAF! Salon, Laila Lettering and MUD wreath workshop’s (held later in the year). We love hosting these types of events and look forward to doing more in 2020. At the same time, the Edinburgh Fringe was happening, where people had to Find our Frames at the Fringe! We had our giant frames out in the streets of Edinburgh, moving location throughout the festival. We challenged our customers (and new customers) to take a snap with the frames and share using our #SeeWithIOLLA to win a pair of frames! 📸 We also had another big announcement, an order from the Peaky Blinders, that IOLLA created new frames for our 👁Mr Tommy Shelby 👁 The glasses were to help complete the look of Tommy Shelby, as played by Cillian Murphy, as his life takes a new path into politics and the Peaky Blinders progress into a new time period.
OCTOBER - DECEMBER
As we come to the end of the year, we still have even more for you! A launch of our 🍂Autumn Winter Collection🍂which included 3 new frames and some of our customer's favourites in brand new colours. Our next product launch was our ☁️Soft Case☁️, born from customer feedback and creating products with more sustainable materials. To accompany the Soft Case, we collaborated with local illustrator Katie Smith on a Festive Dust Bag. Before we knew it, it was the Festive period! We had our Christmas Gift Cards ready to be put under the tree, our exclusive customisation station went live in our West George St showroom and a fun, festive photoshoot to showcase our favourite frames. We strongly believe that IOLLA wouldn’t be the brand it is today without the hard work and dedication of our amazing team. As a big thanks to our wonderful team, we celebrated the end of the year with a 🎄Christmas night out 🎄with an evening full of awards, quizzes and a debut from our band, the IOLLA cataracts 🎶
